Opposites attract – Love Motel next to a church

Sinchon Love Motel next to a Church

Sinchon is a notoriously well known area if you want to do some shopping, eat out, drink a beer in a pub or party hard in one of its clubs during the night. Of course you don’t need to look hard for a love motel here if you are up for more ๐Ÿ˜› I guess that is the real reason why this area is called Sin-Chon ๐Ÿ˜€ But i was always wondering a little bit why there are so many churches located here in Sinchon. One church that catched my attention was this one, which is right next to a love motel.

Sinchon Love Motel at night

Especially at night this looks awesome because the cross is glaring in this evil red color. You can truly feel the sin that’s happening in this love motel ๐Ÿ˜€ ใ…‹ใ…‹ใ…‹

Best Gimbap ๊น€๋ฐฅ in Seoul

Gimbap ๊น€๋ฐฅ

Besides eating out almost everyday i am enjoying the privilege of great home-made food from Sujin’s mom from time to time. This time i got some really, really delicious gimbap ( ๊น€๋ฐฅ ) for dinner, perfect food if you want to study and eat something meanwhile! ๋ง›์žˆ์–ด์š”!

Gimbap ๊น€๋ฐฅ

Most of you will know the Japanese “Maki” which are quite similar to the Korean “Gimbap”. Basically it is steamed white rice with various ingredients and rolled into sheets of dried laver seaweed. A very healthy snack indeed!

Unfortunately Sujin’s mom lives in Busan, so i won’t get a chance to eat more of her delicious gimbap here in Seoul for the next few weeks. I’ve tried a few gimbap places in Sinchon already but i didn’t find a real good one yet. If you know a good place where to eat tasty gimbap in Seoul, please let me know in the comments. Perhaps we could start here a small list together with great gimbap places here in Seoul, how about that?

After eating lots of junks here in Seoul so far ( like ์กฑ๋ฐœ, ๊ฐˆ๋งค๊ธฐ์‚ด and fried chicken) it was time to introduce you some heathly food today ๐Ÿ™‚ It is called Shabu Shabu ( ์ƒค๋ธŒ์ƒค๋ธŒ ) which is, of course just in my humble opionion, a great eating experience for everyone from the Western countries. Shabu Shabu has its roots in Japan and is a dish where you cook meat and lots of vegetables in a huge cooking pot. Although i am not the big fan of veggies i deeply love ์ƒค๋ธŒ์ƒค๋ธŒ !! Eating ์ƒค๋ธŒ์ƒค๋ธŒ is like getting a three-course meal, for starters cooking the veggies and the meat, then cooking the noodles and enjoying the soup and at the end you are eating a rice dish. Really, really yummy!

At the very beginning you put all the vegetables inside the cooking pot and let it cook for a while. After a few minutes you can already start to grab some meat and put it inside the bowl. It’s tricky at the beginning to keep the meat on the chopstick but with some practise it won’t be a problem. Because the meat is cut into razor-thin slices it is done very quickly. You grab some onions and cabbage and eat it together with the meat.

After finishing the meat and the veggies you are putting some noodles inside the bowl and let it cook again for a while. Thanks to the vegetables and meat the soup gets a great taste and is truly delicious! My favorite part of Shabu Shabu. ๋ง›์žˆ์–ด์š”!

At the end you will get some rice and an egg, which will be mixed with the leftover soup. If you were not full yet, you will be probably now ๐Ÿ˜›

์ƒค๋ธŒ์ƒค๋ธŒ definitely counts to my favorite dishes here in South Korea, although it isn’t a original Korean dish. Perhaps one day i will get the chance to taste the real Japanese version of it, this would be great. You can find Shabu Shabu restaurants on every corner here in Seoul, at least here in Sinchon ๐Ÿ˜€ So give it a try, it is a great eating experience! You won’t be disappointed!
